Takahashi Shotei, also known as Hiroaki, was a prominent Japanese woodblock print artist active during the Meiji, Taisho, and early Showa periods. He studied under Ogata Gekko and became renowned for his exquisite shin-hanga (new prints) featuring birds, flowers, and atmospheric landscapes that appealed strongly to Western collectors. His delicate compositions and masterful use of color and bokashi shading made him one of the most celebrated artists of the shin-hanga movement, with his works frequently published by Watanabe Shozaburo.
