Stanislaus von Chlebowski (1835, 1884) was a Polish painter renowned for his Orientalist scenes and historical compositions, having studied under Jean-Léon Gérôme in Paris before serving as court painter to Ottoman Sultan Abdülaziz in Constantinople. His works vividly depict Ottoman court life, battles, and Middle Eastern landscapes with meticulous detail and dramatic composition. He remains one of the most distinguished Polish Orientalist painters, with his works frequently appearing at major European auction houses.
