Shadi Ghadirian

Ghadirian works in photography to explore the status of women in contemporary Iran, particularly through her series "Qajar" (1998) and "Like Every Day" (2000-2001), which juxtapose traditional and modern elements. Her work has been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and is in the collections of the British Museum and Centre Pompidou. She addresses gender, tradition, and modernity in post-revolutionary Iran.
