Pawel Althamer

Paweł Althamer is a Warsaw-based Polish artist known for his deeply humanistic and participatory practice that blurs the boundaries between art and life. Working across sculpture, performance, video, and collaborative social projects, he often involves non-professional participants—including marginalized communities, neighbors, and family members—as co-creators of his work. His self-portrait sculptures, frequently made from organic and found materials, and his large-scale community-based projects have established him as one of the most significant figures in contemporary Polish and international art.
