Ole Wanscher

Ole Wanscher (1903–1985) was a distinguished Danish furniture designer and design historian, widely regarded as one of the foremost figures of mid-century Scandinavian modernism. A student of Kaare Klint, he refined the principles of functional design with an emphasis on classical proportions, craftsmanship, and historical study, producing iconic pieces such as the Egyptian Stool and the Colonial Chair. His scholarly contributions, including writings on the history of furniture, reinforced his reputation as both a practitioner and theorist of timeless design.
