Ludwig Deutsch was an Austrian-born French painter renowned for his meticulous and highly detailed Orientalist works. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts before settling in Paris in 1878, where he became a prominent figure among Orientalist artists. Drawing inspiration from multiple visits to Egypt between 1885 and 1898, he recreated vivid scenes of North African and Middle Eastern life in his Paris studio.
