Jacques-Philippe Caresme (1734, 1796) was a French painter and draughtsman known for his elegant decorative compositions, mythological scenes, and genre subjects in the Rococo tradition. He studied under Carle Van Loo and won the Prix de Rome in 1762, later becoming a member of the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture. His works, often featuring graceful figures in pastoral or allegorical settings, were highly sought after by aristocratic patrons in pre-Revolutionary France.
