Bucher was a sculptor and performance artist known for "skinning" architectural spaces by covering walls and objects with latex, then peeling them away as translucent membranes. Her process explored memory, body, and psychological space, particularly addressing women's domestic confinement. Her work gained major recognition posthumously with exhibitions at Parasol Unit, Haus der Kunst, and Kunstmuseum Bern.
