Farhad Moshiri

Farhad Moshiri is an Iranian contemporary artist born in 1963 in Shiraz, Iran, who studied at the California Institute of the Arts before returning to the Middle East, where he is based primarily in Tehran and Dubai. His work is characterized by a vibrant fusion of Persian cultural iconography, traditional motifs such as calligraphy and carpet patterns, and Western pop art sensibilities, often incorporating glitter, sequins, and embroidery to create visually opulent canvases. Moshiri is one of the most prominent and commercially successful artists from the Middle East, with works regularly achieving significant results at major international auction houses.
