Cundo Bermúdez

Cundo Bermúdez (1914–2008) was a celebrated Cuban painter known for his vibrant, colorful depictions of Cuban life, figures, and musicians, blending elements of modernism with Caribbean sensibility. His work is characterized by bold outlines, flattened forms, and richly saturated hues that reflect both his training in Mexico and his deep connection to Cuban culture. Bermúdez is considered one of the most important figures of the Cuban avant-garde movement of the mid-20th century, and his paintings are held in major museum and private collections throughout the Americas.
