Cornelis de Vos was a prominent Flemish Baroque painter born around 1584 in Hulst, known primarily for his masterful portraiture and religious compositions. He was a close associate of Peter Paul Rubens and contributed figures to several of Rubens' large-scale works. De Vos is particularly celebrated for his tender and psychologically insightful portraits of children and family groups, which remain highly sought after in the auction market.
