Charles Michel-Ange Challe (1718, 1778) was a French painter, draughtsman, and decorator who studied under François Boucher and won the Prix de Rome in 1741. He served as First Architect to the King of Poland and later became designer of royal festivities to Louis XV, creating elaborate decorative schemes and stage designs. His work is celebrated for its refined draftsmanship and ornate Rococo sensibility, with drawings and paintings appearing regularly at major auction houses.
