Livio Mehus (1630, 1691) was a Flemish-born painter who spent much of his career in Florence under the patronage of the Medici family. He studied under Justus Sustermans and was deeply influenced by Pietro da Cortona, developing a style that blended Flemish naturalism with Italian Baroque dynamism. He is known for mythological, allegorical, and religious compositions notable for their expressive figures and luminous handling of light.
