Yun Gee (1906–1963) was a pioneering Chinese-American modernist painter born in Guangdong, China, who emigrated to San Francisco as a child and later became a prominent figure in avant-garde art circles in both the United States and Paris. Influenced by Synchromism, Cubism, and Fauvism, he developed a vibrant, color-driven style characterized by bold geometric forms and swirling, dynamic compositions. Often regarded as one of the first significant Asian-American modernist artists, his work bridged Eastern and Western artistic traditions and gained renewed critical attention decades after his death.
