Sebastiano Ricci was an Italian Baroque painter renowned for his contributions to the late Baroque period in Venetian painting. He was a contemporary of Piazzetta and an elder influence on Tiepolo, known for his vigorous and luminous grand manner fresco painting in the Cortonesque style. His works played a significant role in bridging the traditions of the Italian Baroque with the emerging Rococo sensibilities of the 18th century.
