Pieter Neefs the Younger was a Flemish painter specializing in architectural interiors of churches, following in the tradition established by his father, Pieter Neefs the Elder. He trained in his father's workshop in Antwerp, developing a refined skill for depicting elaborate Gothic and Baroque church interiors. He frequently collaborated with leading staffage painters to animate his compositions with figures.
