Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey

Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey (1803, 1886) was a French Romantic painter and lithographer celebrated for his dramatic seascapes, coastal scenes, and historical genre paintings. Son of the renowned miniaturist Jean-Baptiste Isabey, he trained under his father and later with Louis Hersent, becoming a prominent figure in 19th-century French art. His works are frequently sought after at major auction houses, with his richly atmospheric marines and storm scenes commanding significant prices in the international art market.
