Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar (1911–1996) was a celebrated Indian modernist painter known for his vibrant depictions of rural life, dancers, and the everyday struggles of common people. Trained at the Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai and later in Paris, he blended Indian sensibilities with Western modernist techniques to create a distinctive expressive style. A recipient of the Padma Bhushan, he remains one of the most significant figures in 20th-century Indian art.
