Debbie Fleming Caffery is an American documentary and fine art photographer best known for her deeply evocative black-and-white images of sugarcane workers and communities in rural Louisiana, as well as her explorations of spirituality, the body, and the American South. Her work is characterized by rich tonal contrasts, intimate portraiture, and a poetic sensitivity to light and shadow that draws comparisons to the pictorialist tradition. She has exhibited internationally and her photographs are held in numerous public and private collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
