Dame Elisabeth Frink (1930–1993) was one of Britain's most celebrated sculptors and printmakers, renowned for her powerful depictions of men, horses, birds, and dogs that explore themes of vulnerability, strength, and the human condition. Her work is characterized by its rough, textured surfaces and expressive forms, often conveying a sense of tension between beauty and menace. Elected a Royal Academician in 1977 and made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1982, she remains a defining figure in 20th-century British sculpture.
