Bodys Isek Kingelez created colorful architectural models and sculptures from paper, cardboard, and found materials, envisioning utopian cities and buildings for a future Congo. His intricate, fantastical constructions like 'Ville Fantôme' combined traditional African aesthetics with futuristic vision. He had a major posthumous retrospective at MoMA and his work is held at the Centre Pompidou and the Smithsonian.
