Wu Xizai (吳熙載), also known as Wu Rangzhi, was a preeminent Chinese calligrapher and seal carver of the Qing dynasty, widely regarded as one of the greatest masters of the Anhui school of seal carving. A devoted student of Bao Shichen, he refined and elevated the 'stele school' (Beipai) approach to calligraphy, excelling particularly in seal script and clerical script with fluid, elegant brushwork. His seal engravings are celebrated for their graceful lines and balanced compositions, making his works highly sought after in major auction houses across Asia.
