Walter Launt Palmer

Walter Launt Palmer was an American Impressionist painter known for his luminous landscape works. Born into an artistic family, his father Erastus Dow Palmer was a prominent sculptor whose circle included the celebrated landscape painter Frederic Edwin Church, who became a key mentor to the young Palmer. He trained initially under portrait painter Charles Loring Elliott before finding his true calling in landscape painting under Church's guidance.
