Hiroshi Senju is a contemporary Japanese painter renowned for his monumental waterfall and nature paintings executed using traditional Japanese Nihonga techniques with natural pigments on Japanese paper or gold leaf. He became the first Asian artist to win a prize at the Venice Biennale in 1995, bringing international recognition to his luminous, meditative works. His large-scale installations have been exhibited in major museums and cultural institutions worldwide, including a permanent installation at Bhutan's Paro International Airport.
