He Shaoji was a prominent Chinese calligrapher and official of the Qing dynasty, widely regarded as one of the greatest calligraphers of the 19th century. Born in Daoxian, Hunan province, he developed a highly distinctive style rooted in the stele school (Beipai), drawing inspiration from ancient stone inscriptions and seal scripts. His work bridged classical tradition and innovative expression, earning him lasting influence on Chinese calligraphic art.
