Giovanni Antonio Sogliani was a Florentine painter of the High Renaissance, known for his devotional altarpieces and religious works executed in a style heavily influenced by his master Lorenzo di Credi and later by Fra Bartolommeo. He worked primarily in Florence, producing compositions characterized by gentle piety, refined draughtsmanship, and harmonious coloring. His most celebrated work, the Providence of St. Dominic, is housed in the refectory of San Marco in Florence.
