Georges d'Espagnat

Georges d'Espagnat (1870–1950) was a French Post-Impressionist painter known for his vibrant, light-filled canvases depicting leisure scenes, figures in gardens, and intimate domestic interiors. His work is characterized by loose, expressive brushwork and a rich, luminous palette influenced by the Impressionists, particularly Renoir, with whom he shared an affinity for capturing the pleasures of everyday bourgeois life. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and was associated with the Nabis circle, earning recognition as a significant figure in early twentieth-century French painting.
