George Edwin Bissell

George Edwin Bissell (1839, 1920) was an American sculptor known for his monumental public works and portrait statues. He studied in Paris and Florence and became celebrated for his commemorative monuments honoring Civil War figures and historical personalities. His works can be found in prominent public spaces across the United States and abroad, including the Chancellor Robert Livingston statue at the U.S. Capitol.
