The Bamileke Beaded Helmet Mask is a ceremonial object originating from the Grassfields region of Cameroon, produced by Bamileke artisans whose royal court workshops created elaborately beaded regalia for chiefs and secret societies. These masks, covered in glass trade beads forming geometric and figurative patterns, served as powerful symbols of chiefly authority, fertility, and ancestral connection. Historically commissioned by Fon (chiefs) and used during royal funerals, enthronements, and masquerade festivals, they represent one of the most sophisticated beadwork traditions in sub-Saharan Africa.
