André Villers

André Villers (1930–2016) was a French photographer best known for his close friendship and collaboration with Pablo Picasso, who taught him photography and appeared as one of his most celebrated subjects. Villers developed a distinctive body of work that merged photography with artistic experimentation, including photograms and cut-paper techniques he created alongside Picasso in a series known as 'Diurnes.' His work bridges documentary portraiture and avant-garde artistic practice, earning him recognition as a significant figure in 20th-century French photography.
