Koichi Yairi

Koichi Yairi (1948, 2019) was a renowned Japanese luthier celebrated for handcrafting exceptional acoustic guitars under the Alvarez-Yairi and K. Yairi brands from his workshop in Kani, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. He trained in the family tradition established by his father Kazuo Yairi and became internationally recognized for blending traditional Japanese craftsmanship with Western guitar-making techniques. His instruments are highly sought after by collectors and professional musicians worldwide for their tonal quality and meticulous construction.
