'Follower of David de Coninck' is an attribution designation used by auction houses and scholars to identify anonymous Flemish painters who worked in close proximity to or under the direct influence of David de Coninck (c. 1644–c. 1701), the Antwerp-born still life and animal painter renowned for his elaborate depictions of dead game, birds, and hunting trophies. These unidentified artists closely emulated de Coninck's distinctive style, palette, and compositional conventions, producing works of comparable quality that cannot be firmly attributed to the master himself. Such attributions reflect the collaborative and workshop-based nature of Flemish painting in the late seventeenth century.
