A richly layered print by Italian transavantgarde master Mimmo Paladino, *Alceo* combines screenprint, woodcut, etching, and drypoint to conjure a fragmented, mythic portrait of the ancient Greek lyric poet Alcaeus. Paladino's signature visual language merges archaic symbolism with raw, gestural mark-making, layering bold color fields against scratched linear passages to evoke the tension between civilisation and primordial feeling.
