Mathias Bengtsson
“Slice” chair
Mathias Bengtsson's "Slice" chair is a striking example of digital fabrication pushed to its aesthetic limits, constructed from hundreds of laser-cut aluminum layers stacked and bonded together to form an organic, undulating silhouette. The industrial precision of the medium is paradoxically transformed into something fluid and almost geological, evoking natural formations such as sedimentary rock or topographic contours. The result is a sculptural object that blurs the boundary between functional furniture and fine art.
