A delicate yet psychologically charged work on paper, Lassnig employs pencil and watercolour to explore her signature theme of "body awareness," rendering the human form through sensations felt from within rather than observed from without. The fluid washes of colour dissolve and reform around gestural pencil marks, creating a fragile tension between the physical and the ephemeral. The title, meaning something akin to "a feast for the eyes" in German, carries an ironic tenderness that is characteristic of Lassnig's deeply introspective practice.
