2 Wings for Wall and Person
Two large wing forms unfurl symmetrically across twelve sheets of paper, rendered in delicate pink photo-etching that blurs the boundary between the architectural and the bodily. Acconci presents the wall itself as a kind of exoskeleton or extension of the human figure, suggesting that the person and the built environment might share the same anatomy. The soft, rosy hue lends the work an organic warmth, transforming what might otherwise feel like a structural diagram into something tender and almost flesh-like.
