A Square Blue And White ' Chilong ' Jarlet And A Longquan Celadon Bird Feeder
YUAN DYNASTY (1279-1368)
This Yuan Dynasty ensemble showcases two refined ceramic forms that exemplify the period's technical mastery and aesthetic refinement. The blue and white chilong jarlet demonstrates the increasing sophistication of cobalt underglaze decoration during the 14th century, while the Longquan celadon bird feeder reflects the continued prestige of Southern Song celadon traditions adapted under Mongol rule. Together, these vessels reveal the Yuan period's synthesis of Han Chinese ceramic heritage with the cosmopolitan tastes of the Mongol court.
