Mushmouth presents a playful yet raw exploration of materiality, with Bradley incorporating soft foam alongside oil and glue to create a tactile, almost cartoonish surface that blurs the boundaries between painting and sculpture. The work reflects Bradley's signature interest in primitivism and the language of comics and outsider art, rendered with a deliberately crude, intuitive hand. The unconventional combination of materials lends the piece a humorous physicality, inviting viewers to consider the absurdity and joy embedded in the act of making.
