Horizon

A sculptural work by Kaari Upson, *Horizon* employs silicone and pigment to evoke the uncanny, fleshy materiality that defines her practice. The malleable, skin-like qualities of the silicone suggest a body in a state of transformation or dissolution, while the pigment lends the work an unsettling sense of organic life. The piece exists at the boundary between the human and the artificial, probing themes of desire, memory, and the instability of physical form.
