Vera Molnár is a pioneer of computer art and generative art, beginning her algorithmic practice in the 1960s before gaining access to computers, using what she called 'machine imaginaire' to create systematic variations. Her work explores the relationship between order and disorder through geometric abstraction, employing plotters and computers to generate series of works that investigate subtle transformations and permutations. Her practice has been celebrated in major retrospectives including at the Centre Pompidou and Museum of Modern Art, establishing her as a foundational figure in digital art history.
