Sachiko Kazama is a Japanese artist renowned for her large-scale woodblock prints that critically engage with themes of militarism, industrial society, nationalism, and political power. Drawing on the traditional Japanese mokuhanga technique, she transforms the medium into a vehicle for sharp social commentary, depicting monumental scenes of machines, soldiers, and crowds with striking graphic intensity. Her works have been shown widely in Japan and internationally, including at major contemporary art venues, and she is regarded as one of the most significant printmakers working in Japan today.
