Raúl de Nieves

Raúl de Nieves is a Mexican-born, New York-based multidisciplinary artist known for his elaborately crafted, labor-intensive works that incorporate beading, costume, performance, and assemblage. His practice draws on folk traditions, religious iconography, queer identity, and personal mythology to create immersive environments and wearable sculptures. De Nieves has exhibited widely at institutions including the New Museum and MoMA PS1, and his work has gained increasing recognition in the contemporary art market.
