Pierre Corneille

Pierre Corneille (1606-1684) was a French dramatist and playwright, one of the most important figures in French classical theatre. He is best known for his tragedies, particularly 'Le Cid' and 'Horace', which helped establish the rules of French classical drama. His works were highly influential in establishing neoclassical dramatic principles in 17th-century Europe.
