Gyokudō Kawai (1873-1957) was a Japanese painter and calligrapher known for his distinctive style blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with modernist influences. He was a prominent figure in early 20th-century Japanese art, founding the Nitten exhibition and serving as an influential artist-educator.
