Friedrich Nietzsche

Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche was a German philosopher who began his career as a classical philologist before becoming one of the most influential thinkers in Western philosophy. Appointed Professor of Classical Philology at the University of Basel at just 24, he later resigned due to persistent health problems and spent years as an independent writer across Switzerland, Italy, and southern France. He suffered a mental breakdown in 1889 at age 44 and lived his remaining years under family care until his death in 1900.
