Chiyoko Szlavnics

Chiyoko Szlavnics is a Canadian composer and visual artist based in Berlin whose interdisciplinary practice bridges sound, drawing, and the phenomenology of listening. Her compositions, which often employ sustained tones, microtonality, and extended techniques, are deeply intertwined with her intricate graphite drawings that map acoustic space, frequency relationships, and the physical behavior of sound waves. Her work has been performed and exhibited internationally at venues including the Donaueschingen Musiktage, Darmstadt Summer Courses, and MaerzMusik Berlin, and she is regarded as a significant voice in contemporary experimental music and sound art.
