Ben F. Laposky was an American artist and mathematician who is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of computer and electronic art. In 1950, he created 'Oscillon' series using an analog computer and oscilloscope to generate abstract electronic waveforms, which he photographed and exhibited as fine art prints, among the earliest known works of electronic art. His groundbreaking explorations, first exhibited in Cherokee, Iowa in 1953, prefigured the digital art movement and established foundational principles for the intersection of mathematics, technology, and visual art.
