Domenico Maria Canuti was an Italian Baroque painter born in Bologna in 1625, known for his dynamic ceiling frescoes and altarpieces that reflect the influence of his master Guido Reni. He worked extensively in Bologna and Rome, contributing major decorative fresco cycles to churches and palaces, including notable work at the Palazzo Altieri in Rome. His style combined the Bolognese classical tradition with the theatrical illusionism characteristic of the Roman High Baroque.
